Our daughter was diagnosed with a fatal fetal anomaly at 19 weeks, and passed away around the 22nd week.  Having a natural birth was very important to us as we wanted to be emotionally and physically present every moment we shared with our daughter; the moments were few.  There is no doubt in my mind that Amanda’s presence throughout labor and delivery made a natural birth possible.  With her love, support, and natural gifts she helped us create a beautifully peaceful birthing experience despite our sadness.  She knew exactly what to do and say to embrace the beauty and purity of our day to both meet and say good bye to our daughter.  Amanda worked so seamlessly with our amazing midwife, and altogether we made a wonderful birthing team.  She shouldered every emotion we felt, and shared our experience which gave us immeasurable courage and strength.  Through Amanda's positivity, we were able to appreciate and accept the gifts our daughter brought us, even though they weren’t the type of gifts we planned to receive from our child.  Since the birth, Amanda has continued her unconditional love and support, and is playing a critical role in our healing.  I hope to have the privilege of Amanda’s intuitive presence during the births of our future children.
